Did you know?? Bald Cypress is famous for being the king of the southern swamps. Reality is it actually grown beautifully on dry land too! This piece showcases the incredible, wavy grain lines and a dark streak kissing the rim.
Because bald cypress is a relatively soft wood with prominent growth rings, it takes a skilled hand to turn a wall this smooth and uniform without causing "tear out" or fuzzie grain. Brian did amazing job keeping this one smooth.
It is finished with a tung oil/resin making it strong and durable.
