We built the Local Makers shelf because York is full of people making genuinely good things out of their kitchens, garages, and spare bedrooms, and most of them have nowhere to put it in front of real customers.
If that is you, this is your opportunity. You do not need an introduction, a mutual friend, or a perfect Instagram. You just need to make something you are proud of.
What we are looking for
- Made by you. Handmade, hand-poured, hand-printed, hand-grown, hand-whatever. Not resold, not drop-shipped.
- Local, or close to it. York County first, south central PA after that. Local is the entire point of the shelf.
- Something you can restock. It does not have to be a lot. It has to be repeatable.
- Something that fits. Our customers come in for candles, gifts, and things that feel good in a house. Use your judgment, and if you are not sure, apply anyway and let us decide.
What we do not need
A slick brand. A website. A big following. A business degree. We started this in our own kitchen and we remember exactly what that felt like.
How it works

- If it is a fit, we talk pricing, quantities, and how you want to be credited. Your name goes on your work.
- You get a spot on the shelf and a page on this site.
One honest note
We say no sometimes, and it is almost never about quality. Usually it is because we already carry something close to it and it would not be fair to either maker to put you head to head on the same shelf. If that is the answer you get, ask us again in six months. Things change.
