Candles & Home Fragrance

What type of wax do you use for your candles?

We use a coconut apricot wax, which is clean-burning and produces less soot than other types of wax — better for your health and the environment. It also has a longer burn time than many other waxes, a strong scent throw that fills your space, and it's biodegradable, non-toxic, and made from natural ingredients.

How long do your candles burn for?

Our candles burn for an average of 50 hours.

How should I use your scoopable wax melts / wickless candles?

Use the small wooden scoop that comes with each jar to place a small amount of wax into your wax melter, as needed. You can also place the whole glass jar right on your candle warmer for a stronger scent.

Can you refill used candle jars?

Unfortunately, we can't refill used candle jars for safety reasons. We suggest reusing the jars to plant flowers using our wildflower seed paper candle covers, or recycling them.

What is the seed paper candle cover?

Each candle comes with a wildflower seed paper cover with beautiful art printed on it. The seeds are snapdragon, petunia, beardtongue, daisy, thyme, poppy, catchfly, maiden pinks & chamomile. To plant: wrap a damp paper towel around the seed paper and cover with 1/8" of soil in a pot. Wildflower seeds need 4 hours a day of direct sunlight and will grow to about 3 feet.

Tie-Dye

What method do you use for tie-dyeing your products?

We use a method called ice dyeing (or muck dyeing): hand twisting and tying the fabric, strategically placing the dye colors, then covering the fabric with ice cubes and soda ash so the dye bonds to the cotton. This creates a fully saturated, watercolor effect that is always unique — very different from typical liquid-dyed tie-dye.

What materials do you use for your tie-dye products?

Our shirts, baby and toddler pajamas, tapestries, and socks are 100% soft spun cotton. Our hoodies and crewnecks are a 50/50 cotton-polyester blend, which makes them very comfortable.

How should I care for my tie-dye products?

No special care needed! Wash and dry them with your other clothing without worrying about colors bleeding or fading. We do recommend drying on the cotton setting to avoid shrinkage.

Do you offer custom tie-dye requests?

Yes, when we're able! We create custom tie-dye for local non-profits and small businesses in large quantities, plus custom pieces for events or one-of-a-kind gifts. We'll always be honest about whether we can create your piece and deliver it in a timely manner — just ask.
